Over the past months, a lot has been happening — quietly, but steadily.
We’ve been rebuilding the Outatune platform from the ground up. Not just a redesign, but a rethink of how the different strands connect: Cliff Barnes and the Fear of Winning, Surplus Stock, and the wider network around it. What you see now is only the beginning.
At the center of this work is a new project: Rising Drumbeat of Discontent. It brings together old ideas and new material, not as a return, but as a continuation. The site grows around it — as a place to connect what was, what is, and what is still taking shape.
At the same time, we’ve been going back into the archive. Old recordings, unfinished fragments, forgotten versions. Some of it has been remastered, some of it reworked, some of it simply rediscovered. Releases like World2Hot are part of that process.
Alongside this, we are supporting selected live shows through our friends at Radio Artland. It’s good to reconnect with the live side of things — not as a routine, but as a deliberate moment.

In den vergangenen Monaten ist viel passiert — leise, aber konsequent.
Wir haben die Outatune-Plattform von Grund auf neu aufgebaut. Nicht nur als Redesign, sondern als ein erneutes Nachdenken darüber, wie die verschiedenen Stränge zusammengehören: Cliff Barnes and the Fear of Winning, Surplus Stock und das Umfeld darum herum. Was jetzt sichtbar ist, ist erst der Anfang.
Im Zentrum dieser Arbeit steht ein neues Projekt: Rising Drumbeat of Discontent. Es verbindet ältere Ideen mit neuem Material — nicht als Rückkehr, sondern als Fortsetzung. Die Website entwickelt sich darum herum als ein Ort, an dem sich Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und das, was noch entsteht, miteinander verbinden.
Gleichzeitig sind wir zurück ins Archiv gegangen. Alte Aufnahmen, unfertige Fragmente, vergessene Versionen. Einiges wurde remastered, anderes überarbeitet, manches einfach wiederentdeckt. Veröffentlichungen wie World2Hot sind Teil dieses Prozesses.
Parallel dazu unterstützen wir ausgewählte Konzerte gemeinsam mit unseren Freunden von Radio Artland. Es ist gut, wieder einen Bezug zum Live-Moment herzustellen — nicht als Routine, sondern als bewusste Entscheidung.
